Step 43

Keeping Your Performance Consistent

At this stage, effort often drops gradually instead of dramatically.

Assignments get pushed back a little more.

Focus slips slightly. Small habits loosen.

Students sometimes tell themselves it's temporary while their consistency quietly disappears.

This step is not about increasing pressure.

It's about noticing drift early.

Core Idea

You do not need to push harder right now - you just need to stay steady.

Your One Action

Start your Drift Detector

Look at your current grades. Choose one class where your effort has slipped slightly. Write one realistic action you will take this week.

Examples:

  • review notes

  • complete work earlier

  • attend extra help

  • ask a question

  • study without distractions for 20 minutes

Then complete: “The place where my effort has changed most is ______.”

Optional prompt: “The reason this shift probably happened is ______.”

Drift Detector

Optional Prompt Answer

Deeper Reflection

Ask: “What actually caused that shift?”

Examples:

  • stress

  • relief

  • burnout

  • distraction

  • lack of structure

  • emotional exhaustion

Understanding the reason matters more than criticizing yourself.

Life Question
