Junior year is a good time to start noticing academic interests more seriously. 


That does not mean choosing a major or locking yourself into a career path. 


Most real interests develop gradually anyway. 


They usually begin as repeated curiosity.

Start your Recurring Academic Interests archive. 


Write down:


  • one subject

  • one problem or

  • one way of thinking that interests you right now


Examples:

  • biology

  • business

  • design

  • psychology

  • writing

  • solving technical problems

  • helping people

  • understanding behavior

  • working with numbers


Then write: “This interest naturally shows up in my life through ______.”


Examples:

  • classes

  • videos

  • conversations

  • projects

  • books

  • activities

  • podcasts

  • independent research
