Step 3

How Your Time Is Actually Being Used

A lot of students feel “busy” all the time during junior year without fully knowing where their time is going.

School, activities, social life, responsibilities, screens — all of it stacks together.

Sometimes exhaustion comes less from one big thing and more from constant mental switching.

Core Idea

You make better decisions when you understand where your time and energy are actually being spent.

Your One Action

Start your Where My Time & Energy Go tracker.

Write the three things currently taking up most of your time.

Examples:

  • schoolwork

  • sports

  • work

  • social media

  • commuting

  • family responsibilities

  • friends

Then:

  • circle the one draining the most energy

  • underline the one that matters most to you

You may notice that some of the things that drained or energized you earlier in high school still affect you now.

Optional prompt: “I notice these are / are not the same thing because ______.”
