Step 33

Understanding That More Will Depend on You

As you move closer to senior year, more responsibility gradually shifts onto you.

There are usually fewer reminders and more situations where people expect you to manage things independently.

That adjustment can feel uncomfortable at first.

Small habits matter more when nobody is constantly checking on you.

Core Idea

As independence increases, self-management matters more too.

Your One Action

Start your Independence Builder tracker.

Write:

  1. one area where you already manage yourself well

  2. one area where you still rely heavily on reminders, pressure, or other people

Examples:

  • starting work

  • deadlines

  • communication

  • organization

  • time management

  • scheduling

Then complete: “One habit that would help me become more independent here is ______.”

Optional prompt: “I rely on reminders most when ______.”
