Step 9

Protecting Your Time and Energy

Junior year can become exhausting when every part of your life starts competing for attention at the same time.

Sometimes students assume being responsible means always pushing harder or saying yes to everything.

Usually that backfires.

Protecting your time and energy is part of staying functional long term.

Core Idea

Being productive also means knowing what drains you unnecessarily.

Your One Action

Start your Energy Leaks List.

Look at the next three days. Write:

  • one thing that is necessary

  • one thing that may be draining your energy unnecessarily

Examples:

  • too much scrolling

  • staying up too late

  • procrastination

  • multitasking

  • constant notifications

  • overcommitting

  • comparison spirals

Then complete: “One small adjustment that could help this week is ______.”
