Step 2

What Sophomore Year Is Really For

Sophomore year is strange in a more subtle way.

Freshman year is full of obvious adjustment.

Junior year gets talked about constantly.

Sophomore year often sits in the middle - less dramatic on the surface, but important underneath.

This is usually the year students start becoming more aware of their direction, habits, priorities, and choices.

Not perfectly. Just more consciously.

Core Idea

This year is more about consistency than proving yourself.

Your One Action

Start your Consistency Experiments List.

Choose one area:

  • grades

  • activities

  • friendships

  • routines

  • time management

  • sleep

  • focus

Then write:

  • one thing you want to handle differently this year

  • one small action you could realistically repeat this week

Examples:

  • starting assignments earlier

  • reviewing notes briefly after class

  • putting away distractions while studying

  • replying to messages sooner

  • preparing materials the night before

Optional prompt: “The version of this habit that would actually help me is ______.”
