Understanding That the Future Does Not Need to Be Figured Out Yet
Freshmen sometimes feel pressure to already know:
what they want to study
what career they want
what colleges they should aim for
what activities “matter most”
Most adults did not have those answers at 14 either.
Freshman year is not really about making final decisions.
It is more about becoming aware of your interests and strengths as well as different possibilities and the kinds of environments that fit you best.

Add one thing that seems interesting right now:
a topic
a career
a type of work
a lifestyle
a skill
a field
a future environment
Then finish: “What catches my attention about this is ______.”
